Discover Brush Creek Village Real Estate

Brush Creek Village is a small community positioned in the hills leading up to Snowmass. When it comes to real estate, this area comprises entirely single-family homes on large lots—with sizes in the 2-3 acre range. Known for its privacy and tranquility, these luxury properties appeal to those who really want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Single-family homes for sale in Brush Creek Village tend to lean more traditional in style, with lots of stone and wood exteriors and a cabinlike feeling. This extends to even the new construction builds, though buyers searching for a more modern, luxury property have quite a bit of selection. Roads in this community wind and twist around the hills, and homes are often tucked away from the road and perched right on the edge—allowing for some gorgeous views of Aspen’s Elk Mountain Range.

As Brush Creek Village is a more established neighborhood, it is home to a number of older properties. With this comes distinct charm and character, however a lot of homeowners have made updates and renovations to epitomize the luxury lifestyle of the twenty-first century. So while designs and decor in Brush Creek Village tends to lean to the cozy, cabin style, high-end upgrades are standard for this area.

In addition to a number of full-time residents, there are second-home owners, as well as short and long-term rentals in the community. Relatively speaking, homes tend to be more affordable, especially considering the large lots. Undeveloped and vacant lots also occasionally come on the market for those looking to build from the ground up.

Things To Do in Brush Creek Village

Those who call Brush Creek Village home are known to love the outdoors—whether this means skiing, hiking the numerous trails, or even just enjoying the panoramic views from your own home's deck.

Skiing is a popular activity for Brush Creek Village residents. Snowmass Mountain is the most modern, well-rounded ski resort of the Aspen bunch. Snowmass is Aspen’s largest domain and is friendliest toward strong intermediate skiers and riders, though there is an abundance of terrain for any skill level. Snowmass is about 10 minutes from Brush Creek Village.

For the equestrians, Brush Creek Village has no restrictions on boarding horses. There are trails leading just out of the village; you can leave right from home without loading up your horses.

Of course, Aspen is surrounded by some of the most incredible riding terrain in the world. Most equestrians will already know that National Forest and Wilderness Areas, like Maroon Bells, allow horses on public trails. There is an extensive community of horse owners, meaning all your needs will be cared for, from veterinarians to builders specializing in barns.

Additionally, Snowmass Village is home to the Snowmass Club, a Jim Engh-designed golf course originally developed in 1980. It’s the Roaring Fork Valley’s highest elevation course, clocking in at about 8,300 ft, so watch out for those long drives. Like other courses in the region, the greens are wildly undulating but meticulously maintained. Due to the elevation, Snowmass has the shortest season of any of the Valley’s courses; you can expect the first snowfall here in September.

Meanwhile, Aspen Golf Club is one of the country’s finest municipal courses, just a few minutes’ drive from Brush Creek Village. Although it’s a municipal course, you can expect the greens to be maintained on par with private courses in most other parts of the country. The club has all the usual amenities, like a pro shop and PGA staff for private instruction and clinics, including a gold academy.

The Rio Grande Trail is a jewel of Aspen and the entire Roaring Fork Valley. Stretching 42 miles from Aspen to Glenwood Springs, the Rio Grande Trail follows the former Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad corridor, mostly along the Roaring Fork River. The path is nearly 100% paved except for the 3 miles around downtown Aspen, where it is well-maintained crushed gravel.  The Rio Grande Trail is most popular with cyclists and pedestrians, although Nordic skiers also use the track in the winter when snow conditions allow. Best of all, because the path follows the old railroad, the grade is relatively gentle.

Schools & Education In Brush Creek Village

Five schools serve Brush Creek Village, all part of the Aspen public school system. The three public schools are Aspen Elementary School, grades PK-4; Aspen Middle School, grades 5-8; and Aspen High School, grades 9-12. All three of these schools are located in West Aspen between Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands, about a ten-minute drive from Brush Creek Village.

Two private schools are Aspen Country Day School and Aspen Community School, both grades K-8. Additionally, the Wildwood School in East Aspen offers programs for Pre-K children between the ages of two and a half and five.
